Automatic Egg Collection System

Release time: 2026-06-24 10:43:23

The automatic egg collection system, also widely known as the poultry egg collection machine, is a mechatronic integrated farming device specially designed for commercial layer breeding. It replaces traditional manual egg picking with full-process mechanized and intelligent conveying, solving prominent pain points of conventional breeding: high labor consumption, severe egg breakage, unstable hygiene and low collection efficiency. As large-scale, standardized poultry farming develops globally, this automated equipment has become a mandatory configuration for medium and large layer farms, compatible with A-type and H-type multi-tier battery cages covering 3 to 9 layers, and adaptable to closed intensive chicken houses worldwide.

A complete poultry egg collection machine consists of four core modules: horizontal egg collection belts, vertical egg lifting machine, cross central conveyor and intelligent control cabinet, with soft anti-collision egg claws as auxiliary components to avoid shell damage.

1. Primary collection at cage layers

Each tier of cages is equipped with a food-grade soft polypropylene conveyor belt. Driven by low-speed synchronous motors, the belt runs at a gentle speed of 3–4 meters per minute. After hens lay eggs, the slight gradient of cage bottoms lets eggs naturally roll onto the belt without collision or extrusion. Anti-slip and shock-absorbing belt materials eliminate micro-cracks caused by friction.

2. Vertical concentration transportation

Eggs transported by horizontal belts from each cage row converge to the vertical egg lifter at the end of the house. Bionic red egg claws gently grasp and lift eggs tier by tier, then transfer them to the shared cross central conveyor, gathering all eggs from multi-layer cages to a unified central collection platform.

3. Intelligent control & safety protection

The PLC control cabinet supports programmable timing startup during peak laying periods. Built-in photoelectric sensors detect egg jams, overload and belt deviation, triggering automatic shutdown and alarm to prevent machine failure and egg crushing. Operators can adjust conveying speed, collection cycles and alarm thresholds via a touch screen, realizing unattended egg collection throughout the day.

4. Follow-up docking

The central collection table can be directly connected to automatic egg washing, grading and packing lines, forming a closed-loop production chain from egg laying to finished product packaging, fully cutting off repeated manual contact.
